A normal day at UMP includes circle time, outdoor play, snack and exploration/learning centers. Our Pre-K and our 3 year old students also attend Chapel in our beautiful Sanctuary once a week and have a music class with our wonderful music teacher, Ms. Beth. While each classroom has a different flow and schedule, the following is an example of what a child might do during their day at preschool.
9:00am-9:20am: Morning exploration time - an easy way to transition into the classroom each morning
9:20am-9:25am: Morning circle - children begin the day by saying good morning to their friends and touch on key learning topics for their day.
9:30am-10:15am: Outside exploration - often including a Make it Center (arts) or garden activity. During their time outside children have the opportunity to play in our newly renovated Mud Kitchen or outdoor play houses, ride bikes, or run, jump and swing on our play structure and swings.
10:15am-10:30am: Wash Hands and Snack Time - families pack individual snacks for their children to enjoy
10:30am-11:30am: Classroom Learning Centers - this is the time when children have the opportunity to engage in independent learning activities that have early math, literacy, writing and science topics embedded. These activities allow our teachers to individualize their instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
11:30-11:45: Clean up
11:45-11:55: Closing Circle - recap the events of the day and say goodbye until next time
